Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • But, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the family.

This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Audiences can anticipate learning which players will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
