19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since spring of 2023.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent saved four initial chances in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
