Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards β€” And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs β€” but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season β€” particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
